WHAT IVE BEEN FORCED TO LEARN FROM THESE WEEKLY READINGS [STEP BY STEP]
By: Santos Nwachukwu
How are you all doing this fine lovely week before midterms. I will tell you how I am doing; not fine. I am sleep deprived from working 2 jobs and 5 classes but here I am making this post (jk professor). But any who I did actually find this weeks readings very informative so lets start off from the beginning shall we. The first reading is called "Find RSS feeds for your favorite websites and make life easier." Now you may be asking: "What the **** are RSS Feeds and what do they stand for?" and its really quite simple. I have no clue. I read this article in the midnight sleep deprived. But after looking at it again after a healthy breakfast I can break it down for you all. RSS stands for Really Simple Syndication. It is pretty much a widget for you to add to your website of your favorite websites. The next posts go on to list very popular RSS feeds such as Slashdot, BBC News and CNN and to also give a more credible explanation about RSS feeds from Wikipedia of all places.
Me personally, I will keep it straight. I think they are cool widgets, especially if people are planning to start an actual professional blog or website, but for me personally its alright. This honestly didn't affect my limited use of social media anyways and it sure hasn't changed my perspective on the internet. For a professional capacity, unless my boss or teacher requires this, I will not give it much thought. I have no care for ethics about this as long as the source from the RSS Feed is legal and doesn't show any compromising images or footage. Peace out y'all.
Hi, Santos! Although your post was quite interesting in the way you talked about some things, I have to say I kind of disagree with you. I know you view it as not helpful and that "you won't give it much thought," but I still think it's better to have an open mind when it comes to social media. There are people in the world who have made successful lives simply by taking advantage of what social media has to offer. You never know where it may take you. Anyways, I enjoyed the picture you used as it connected all of the social media platforms together, and you kept the whole post short and easy to understand.
ReplyDeleteHi Santos, I personally do not use social media however i see advantages to using it in a business environment for marketing, ads, and posting pictures to show your audience. This information has proven useful to me and I agree with Mason that it is good to keep an open-mind with things even if you don't see a use for them. maybe in the future you might use a social media platform for marketing purposes.
ReplyDeleteHey Santos, I like your post, it is really interesting for readers and informative as well. I think RSS Feed is mostly useful if you have a business because it allows you to syndicate your content so that people can subscribe to it and receive updates when you make changes.
