I learned about LinkedIn back in high school and have been using it ever since to promote my page and make myself look appeasable to employers on the site. I have made multiple connections through LinkedIn that have led me to a lot of learning resources that have helped me over the years. On top of that, I had already joined groups in high school that were on LinkedIn and so I was familiar with the grouping system on there. Creating a LinkedIn profile was easy and very customizable and an added bonus was that the UI was clean and organized. The messaging was spot on and recommended you different people based on your interests and already established connections and LinkedIn has a resume builder for you to develop your resume to submit to jobs on it's page.
Throughout this semester, we learned about the various social media sites and "trendy topics" that have been going on over the years. I was already very familiar with most social media / blogging sites such as the usual Facebook, Snapchat, Twitter, Instagram, etc. with the exception of blogger. My opinion on Blogger is that there are better blogging sites out there honestly. Even though I am very familiar with these sites, I don't really use them all that often because I usually go out with friends and don't let my life be dictated by social media. I only really use Facebook for its Marketplace and to remember whose birthday I had forgotten. Snapchat I will admit I use more than my actual messenger.
Instagram I don't even use except for using it to login to different platforms. TikTok I wont touch because as stated before in multiple assignments, I feel like that app and platform is a cesspool of mental illness spreading mental illness. I did like the multiple essays going over social media trends and ethics due to it tying in with multiple other classes I am taking this semester, making them somewhat easier and familiar, especially when I would see the same topic in another class and module. I did (with the exceptions of the learning journals) enjoy this class and all it had to offer with what I was taught and how I will use the teachers in the future. Thank you teach.
